Being on Smith Lake, Thousand Trails Resort has its own boat launch, perfect for launching into the lake and exploring. The lake views are breathtaking and peaceful. Sadly, all of the lakefront sites appeared to be occupied by seasonals, but there are some nice benches behind the rec center for those who want to sit and enjoy the view.

Campground Amenities at Thousand Trails Resort In Alabama
Amenities at Hidden Cove RV Resort include mini golf, basketball, a disc golf course, a swimming pool, and a recreation center with tons of board games. A children’s play area is also available in the Rec Center to keep little ones entertained out of the camper. Thousand Trails Resort in Alabama also offers a variety of seasonal activities including fishing, hiking trails, biking trails, and much more.
- Mini Golf – clubs are available in the office
- Disc Golf – located behind the pool
- Pool Tables – There are 2 pool tables in the rec center, however during our stay, there were lots of balls missing. Even between the two tables we didn’t have enough balls to play a game.
- Ping Pong – located in the rec center
- Children’s Play Area – there is a small corner in the rec center dedicated to toys for smaller children. You will find a train table, duplos, giant connect four, and more.
- Laundry Room – there are two laundry rooms at Hidden Cove, each with two washers and two dryers. Unfortunately, the dryers DO NOT WORK, so save yourself the headache, and drive into Arley instead.
- Pool – pretty large pool located in C loop. We stayed off-season so didn’t get to enjoy this amenity but I’d imagine it’s great in the summer. Sadly, there is no hot tub.
Campsite Hookups at Thousand Trails Resort in Alabama
At Hidden Cove, you’ll find most of the sites are full-hookup, offering more convenience and comfort. Thousand Trails Resort in Alabama also offers a few partial-hookup sites, as well as tent camping sites.
The sites are level and spacious. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. You will have plenty of room to park your vehicle, many campers even had trailers on their site with lots of room to spare.
There are also a few cabin rentals available for those who prefer to camp without their RV or want a place for guests.
Receiving Mail at Thousand Trails Resort in Alabama
Hidden Cove Resort will accept packages from UPS and FedEx, but USPS does not deliver here. The post office (about 4 miles away) will hold any of your packages or mail sent via USPS for about a week.
Local Attractions
While there isn’t much in Arley itself, Thousand Trails Resort in Alabama is located right outside of Bankhead National Forest, home of the Black Warrior Waterdog. The town of Jasper is only about 40 minutes away and offers plenty of options for shopping, dining, and groceries.
For day trips, Huntsville and Birmingham are each about an hour away and offer museums, restaurants, and plenty of other attractions. Hidden Cove Resort is perfect for those who want to explore the area or just relax in the peaceful atmosphere of this RV resort.
Internet at Thousand Trails Resort in Alabama
We use both T-Mobile Home Internet and Starlink. I noticed at some times T-Mobile offered faster speeds, and at others it was Starlink. Even though neither service worked perfectly, we were consistently connected during our entire stay. Cell service (Verizon) was non-existent away from the campsite.
